Now the Christmas Lights have been turned on and the seasonal adverts are playing there is no denying that Christmas is coming. With all the festivities of the season some people can feel that they are missing that sense of ‘Christmas spirit’ coupled with the anxiety of not knowing what to buy that special someone who seems to have everything?
Well agonise no more. If you can’t face buying yet another pair of novelty socks, golf sets or scented candles for Aunty Flo and Uncle Derek, RSPCA Bristol Branch and Bristol Dogs and Cats Home have the answer.
Rebecca Law, Fundraiser at the charity said, “We’re offering an alternative gift solution for friends & family which will also give you that warm and fuzzy Christmas feeling, knowing that you are helping animals in need at the same time. “
“From just £10 you can select from a wide range of gifts such as providing first aid treatment for injured hedgehogs and wild birds or support for a neglected kitten. Your lucky recipient will receive a special pack with information about the gift made in their name, your choice of card and special gift to open on Christmas day. Our Christmas Gifts with a Difference are an affordable and meaningful solution this Christmas.”
RSPCA Bristol Branch is made up of the RSPCA Bristol Clinic and Bristol Dogs and Cats Home. With the largest Branch Clinic in the country, providing 24 hour emergency veterinary service for lost, sick and injured stray and wild animals, subsidised veterinary treatment for people on a low income, and a rescue centre that sees 2,000 animals coming through its doors every year, the charity gives thousands of local animals in need a second chance for a happy life, free from pain or neglect.
With so many animals to care for the charity’s annual running costs exceed £1.6 million. Although a branch of the RSPCA the charity is independent from the National RSPCA, receiving no funding from the National Charity, Government or the Lottery. They therefore rely on the support from the community to continue their important work
Rebecca continued, “We also have a fabulous range of Christmas Cards for sale featuring animals from the Dogs Home. So whatever your needs this Christmas, we have something for everyone. Please visit our website or contact us for more information and feel good about giving this Christmas.”
