19/02/2010 - Night at the Races!

After the success of last years event, you simply cannot afford to miss the most animated event of the year with our wonderfully woolly jockeys and their sturdy steeds. Fantastic fun, with bets to be won, it’s guaranteed to be a winner!

This is a Race Night like no other - a refreshing change from the traditional events with televised races. Six wooden horses with their knitted jockeys will race on a track like a giant board game, their fates controlled by the roll of dice. You will be gripped as your horse battles to stay ahead, desperately trying to avoid hazards such as jumps, pools, or low flying birds in this outrageously entertaining event!

Spectators will be able to enjoy a delicious buffet supper while chancing their luck by placing bets of 20p or more on their selected horses. The event will take place at the RSPCA Bristol Branch Offices (near the Dogs Home on Albert Road, St. Philips). Doors open at 7pm and races begin at 7:20pm. Tickets are £6 and include the buffet supper. Drinks will also be available at the ‘drinking trough’.

Not only does the Race Night promise to be great fun but the money raised will help us to continue our important work rescuing animals in need. So please, come along and chance a bet on one of our fleet-footed steeds and, maybe, you’ll go home a huge winner!
